Overview

QVF8042 is a perfect security appliance designed specifically for small to medium enterprises to establish business networks with robust security/ease of use VPN connections. It contains two WAN ports and eight Ethernet/Fast Ethernet LAN ports to deliver high interface flexibility and scalability for Internet access and your private network. With comprehensive manageable functions combining firewall, VPN, QoS, NAT, and powerful traffic management, this router brings an elegant all-in-one solution to enterprise businesses, service providers, call centers, and data centers. Most of all, this appliance equipped Qno's exclusive VPN features, QVM SmartLink & QnoKey, provides extremely easy VPN setup and plug-and-play convenience to remote gateways and mobile users.

Featuring two WAN ports, QVF8042 can simultaneously connect up to two different broadband services, so in the unlikely event that one unit fails; the remaining connections will continuously provide connectivity to the internet and remote networks. The device also supports Intelligent Balancer (Auto Mode) for outgoing traffic, as well as Quality of Service (QoS) for network administers to control both guarantee/minimum bandwidth and limit maximum bandwidth or to set priority for different services. Moreover, this router offers a configurable DMZ port (either WAN2 or DMZ) and it allows you to setup public server without exposing your internal network.

More than just a NAT router, QVF8042 provides a build-in advanced firewall protecting enterprise networks from various malicious attacks. The product uses stateful packet inspection (SPI) to examine all data packets passage against a set of custom security policies. It also built with an automatic protection to detect and block Denial of service (DoS) attacks such as SYN flooding, IP Spoofing, LAND, Ping of Death and etc. NAT functionality with firewall conceals network address avoiding the disclosure as public information and also provides a solution for IP address depletion problem. The product also has the reverse NAT capabilities that enable users to host various internet services in the private IP address space, such as web servers, e-mail servers and etc.

The VPN functionality in this product provides the security for transferring sensitive data. Qno's VPN functionality has been verified to have interoperability with other VPN appliances conforming to IPSec protocol. This appliance implements the Authentication Header (AH) and Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP), as well as key management protocols in both automatic IKE and manual mode to provide anti-replay service, confidentiality authentication, and integrity for data stream. QVF8042 supports up to 100 IPSec VPN tunnels and 2 Group IPSec VPN settings, as well as 30 PPTP VPN tunnels. Group VPN setup allows VPN client deployment with one router configuration file. Except the standard IPSec VPN, this appliance also contains two additional exclusive VPN functionalities. QVM SmartLink is a special design to easily and quickly establish VPN tunnels by simply setting three parameters while remaining the same security as IPSec VPN. QnoKey is the USB device designed for single PC to easily build-up secured connection with this router without any VPN setting on PC site.

This security router's build-in core management tool provides a highly flexible, effective, and easy to use management environment for the network administrator. It comes with a comprehensive web-based management interface for more flexible and easily configured in different web browser. The SysLog and traffic statistic information allow network administrator to easily control and monitor the end users and then take the proper action to efficiently utilize network resource.
